Sleep Studies

Sleep studies are tests that record what happens to your body during sleep. The studies are done to find out what is causing your lack of quality sleep and associated fatigue / lack of energy.  They include:

  • Nighttime sleep testing (Polysomnograph - PSG)
  • Daytime testing (Multiple Sleep Testing - MSLT and Maintenance of Wakefulness Test - MWT)
  • Daytime sleep testing (PSG) for shift workers
  • Home Sleep Testing (HST) for selected patients

Sleep problems / symptoms justifying formal sleep testing may consist of:

  • Abnormal Snoring / Sleep-disordered breathing
  • Nighttime Movement / Behavior Disorders
  • Excessive Sleepiness
  • Disability Evaluation
  • Response to Therapy
